Live Tax Resolution Training

Free 1-hour CE/CPE class covering the fundamentals of both Collections and Examination Appeals.

This is a free online CE/CPE class taking place at 10am PDT (1pm EDT) on March 3, 2021.

As a tax resolution specialist, you will spend a significant amount of your case work time interfacing with Appeals. This independent division within the IRS serves as part of the system of checks and balances to ensure that Collections personnel are following laws and regulations, as well as protecting taxpayer rights. During the course of my career, well over half my case resolutions have come from Appeals. This session will delve into how to work with Appeals, plus the specific processes for the two most common Appeals routes you’ll take when working Collections cases.

The fifth item in the Taxpayer Bill of Rights is “The Right to Appeal an IRS Decision in an Independent Forum”. This is an important aspect of handling an IRS Exam. When there are sticky issues, your Exam Representation cases will end up in the Independent Office of Appeals.

It is important for taxpayers to have this right to challenge the decision that was made by IRS field employees (Tax Compliance Officers, Revenue Agents and Group Managers).

Join tax resolution experts Jassen Bowman, EA, CTR™ and Dan Henn, CPA, CTR™ for this 1-hour CE/CPE live training that will cover the basics of IRS Appeals. Attendees will learn what Appeals actually does, and discover the primary types of Appeals available for both Collections and Examination cases.

Note: This class is presented via Zoom. You will receive the direct Zoom link upon registration.
